Dan Schultz is a second year graduate student at the MIT Media Lab studying in the Information Ecology group. At the lab he is a Research Associate at the Center for Civic Media, where he is developing his thesis topic.
I'm a hacker -- trained in Information Systems and Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University and currently a grad student at the MIT Media Lab. That said I am also a blogger at the PBS Idea Lab in addition to being a 2007 Knight News Challenge winner. I also interned at the Pittsburgh Post Gazette in 2009.
I'm a full time grad student so most of my time is already sucked away by research and the endless hunt for free food. However, I'm championing the Meta Meta Project -- an open source effort to make metadata extraction tools easier to interface with. With that in mind I a always glad to: 1) help others use the project or 2) help others contribute to the project.
