Hi, Riche! In answer to your question, I'm not positive if I'll come to the next meeting or not.

I'm not yet a Ruby or Rails programmer, but I've been a programmer for years, and have picked up some Ruby & Rails books and am interested in learning them. I programmed in Smalltalk, my favorite language, for 7 years, and I understand Ruby was influenced partly by Smalltalk. I've mostly worked on defense contracting, but I'm interested in learning about working for nonprofit/social-type orgs.
