Miranda and Mat were great at sharing their experience. Thank you for posting the slides, appreciate it. Looking forward to hearing more from them, any other lectures coming up, at MassArt etc, interested even if a similar content! Most disappointing moment -- intriguing graphics being demo'd but "they're behind the paywall..." Oh, is there at temp code for paywall or foyer or ..?
From a novice perspective the was an Excellent presentation with sufficient background and depth. Has inspired me to learn more about the topic. Looking forward to the publication of Marinda's book and blogs to share her experience
A terrific opportunity to learn about how the net is allowing the building of alternative international news organizations. A quick write-up and some photos here:

Excellent. In the middle of their daily news cycle, the folks at Global Post were extremely generous with their time, sharing history and business strategies, as well as letting us listen in on their afternoon news meeting.
Very interesting and candid look at a journalism startup, the challenges it faces, and the value it can create as a new and different type of news organization.
Very interesting, great variety, knowledgeable presenters. Interesting to see the Globe teaming with MIT Media Lab and Olin. Appreciated getting a behind-the-scenes view.
This was an excellent experience. While the presenters were concerned about moving throughout the lab, this wasn't an issue. Moving around the space personally was a lot better than sitting idle in one spot watching demo after demo. Overall some great technology and looking forward to seeing what other uses come about from it.
It was wonderful. For me it was the first time that I went to a place where self published authors came and talked about their work and experiences ... very delightful! (On the side note, it was my first meet up with Hack and Hackers, I found the members/organizers to be very friendly) ... I would love to come again :-D
It was an educational (and inspiring) experience to hear three different authors share what they've learned from publishing their own writing. They all had success stories to share, but they also, very candidly, (and often humorously) told us about their mistakes so that we aspiring writers could avoid making them. That alone was worth the drive on the expressway during rush hour in the rain.
I found this Meetup incredibly informative and I was glad I decided to go, treacherous weather and all. Each of the panelists brought something different to the panel and there were actually quite a few laughs. I am part of a writing class on the Cape and I took great notes which I plan on sharing with my class next week. Thank you to whoever organized this event!
This was a great meetup. Weather was nasty, so attendance was down (~20 folks there), but the three writers were engaging, witty, informative. Lots of practical advice, recommendations. Revived my interest in blogging, maybe even publishing. Very enjoyable session.
It was good. It was very high level, philosophical thinking that I dont think we always get from these types of discussions. I think it would have been better if we reviewed some real world examples.
Great time. Wonderful meeting lots of new people, and it was exciting to participate.
Comfortably organized, the location was great, and the products that were worked on are exciting.
The worlds of hackers and journalists are coming together as reporting goes digital and Internet companies become media empires.
Journalists call themselves "hacks," someone who can churn out words in any situation. Hackers use the digital equivalent of duct tape to whip out code. Hacker-journalists try and bridge the two worlds.
This group is to bring all these people together -- those who are working to help people make sense of their world. It's for hackers exploring technologies to filter and visualize information, and for journalists who use technology to find and tell stories. In the age of information overload, all their work has become even more crucial.
This group aims to help members find inspiration and think in new directions, bringing together potential collaborators for projects and new ventures.
